Transitional Kindergarten
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two year kindergarten experience for students who are born between September 2nd and April 2nd (2023-2024 School Year)
Please note - For the 2024-2025 School Year Transitional Kindergarten will be for students born between September 2, 2019 and June 2, 2020. Parents will have the choice of TK at their home school (or school nearby depending on enrollment numbers) or attend Preschool at VIP Village. Transitional Kinder is a six hour day. Preschool is a 3 hour program. For additional questions please communicate with your school office staff.

TK classrooms are clustered together at specific school sites due to the small number of students who fit the enrollment criteria. TK enrollment is available at all schools, however students may be sent to a TK cluster at another school site. All students would register at their homeschool and be notified if they will be attending a cluster at a neighboring partner school. If they are sent to a partner school, transportation will be provided.
For the 2024-2025 school year, schools with TK clusters on their campuses will be the following -
Nicoloff (will host TK as needed)
Pence (will host TK from Sunnyslope)
Imperial Beach Charter School and Nestor Language Academy Charter have TK on their campuses and are not included in the clusters.
Please note that TK clusters may change depending on enrollment. Space and staffing are factors that must be taken into consideration.
