Maintenance Emergency Reporting (Please read)

MAINTENANCE EMERGENCY REPORTING

We at Facilities, Maintenance and Operations take emergency situations very seriously, whether it is a sewer main break or a plugged toilet, sink, or urinal. Likewise, any electrical problem involving smoke or arcing, or anything that is unsafe, such as: broken out windows, vandalism or graffiti, broken playground equipment, fallen trees or branches, broken doors, gates, or locks. Anything that is dangerous or that jeopardizes the safety or security of the students or staff. Roof leaks are especially important and early reporting is critical.

Calling our secretary, Vicky Ferra, is fine for other than these types of situations. We at the Facilities, Maintenance and Operations department want a call from either the custodian, site supervisor or office personnel. We have listed our cell numbers at the bottom of this page. Try them first please. Because of our knowledge of the sites and conditions, we are better suited to address your needs. Therefore, we wish to speak directly to the person who is reporting so that we can take appropriate action. This will remove any lag time, misinformation, and guesswork. It is crucial that at least one of us is contacted. We are aware that several sites do this already, and we appreciate it.

In no way should this change the regular methods we currently have in place for work orders, and we certainly do not want calls for every little thing, emergencies only. In addition, because of the nature of our positions, we may be away from our offices all day, so e-mail or voicemail is not an option for reporting.

Please understand that we enjoy our jobs, take pride in doing them the best we can, and are committed to giving the very best service to the District. So, feel free to call; we are here to help.
