Nicoloff Uniform Policy
All students will wear uniforms. Students are required to wear clothes that are neat in appearance and appropriate for school (CA Title V, Sec. 302). All students are required to be in uniform for all school-sponsored events, including field trips.
PURPOSE: Safety and Community
Research has proven that students who dress alike share a greater sense of community and increase student safety, by reducing violence and making it easier to identify persons who do not belong on campus. Uniforms also ensure that styles of clothing that could be misinterpreted as gang-related, distracting, or immodest is avoided (SBUSD B.P. 5130.5).
ENFORCEMENT
If a student arrived without the appropriate uniform the school will make every effort to contact home, so that a uniform can be brought from home. Should no one be able to bring a uniform then clean, used clothing will be provided to the student. A copy of our uniform policy will be sent home with the student. The clothing that was borrowed must be washed and returned immediately to Nicoloff.
