My name is Pamela Reichert-Montiel and I am pleased to introduce myself to you as the new Principal of Imperial Beach Elementary. It is a pleasure for me to be returning to the Imperial Beach School community after working for seven years at the Education Center.
This will be my 22nd year in the South Bay Union School District. I started my career as a Bilingual Teacher at Berry Elementary School on October 24th, 1990, and have held the position of Resource Teacher, Reading & Professional Development Specialist, Coordinator of Educational Services, and most recently, Director of Educational Services.
I am especially excited about taking on the role of Principal of Imperial Beach School because of my history here. Not only was I the Reading & Professional Development Specialist for seven years, but my daughter attended school at Imperial Beach School from Kindergarten through third grade. As both a staff member and a parent, I have experienced first hand the strong sense of community found amongst students, parents, and staff.
Throughout my career I have made it my goal to strive for academic and social excellence. I believe that all students can, and will learn, given the opportunity to do so. I believe that our children can accomplish great things when provided with the support of both the school and the home. It is truly a team effort, one of which teachers, support staff, administrators, parents, and community all play an important role.
I encourage your on-going involvement in your child’s education, and welcome you to attend any and all school events. . In addition, please feel free to introduce yourself when you see me on campus.
I thank you for the opportunity to serve as the instructional leader of your child’s school site and am confident we will have a great year together.
Sincerely,
Pamela Reichert-Montiel
