COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS RESOURCES

SBUSD will begin implementing the ELA CCSS during the 2013-2014 school year.

The implementation of the math CCSS will begin during the 2014-2015 school year.

Three Common Core Shifts for English Language Arts/ Literacy:

1. Building knowledge through content rich nonfiction.

2. Reading, writing, and speaking grounded in evidence from text, both literary and informational.

3. Regular practice with complex text and its academic language.
