Student Attendance and Truancy
Students are required to attend school unless they have a valid excuse for an absence. If students are absent without a valid excuse for 3 or more days, or if they have excessive absences, parents may be required to attend a School Attendance Review Board (S.A.R.B.)

Health Services
School nurses play an important role in keeping our students healthy, ensuring students are up-to-date with immunizations, and provide vision, hearing, and other health screenings. Students who need to receive medication at school must have permission for medication form signed by the child's physician and parent on file at school.

HEALTH OFFICIALS URGE COMMUNITY TO KEEP CURRENT ON VACCINATIONS
Public Health officials are recommending a pertussis booster shot for all individuals ages seven and older who are not fully immunized, including those over 64 years of age. This is due to an increase in the number of whooping cough (pertussis) cases in San Diego County. In addition, the booster is recommended for women of childbearing age, before, during or immediately after pregnancy; and people who have contact with pregnant women or infants.

Suspension/Expulsion
While at school, students must have appropriate behavior while at school. Violations of school rules may result in suspension/expulsion from the school and/or all district schools.
